UPDATE: It’s been decided that the September 19th event will be a bus tour. Specifically we will have a History Museum Bus Tour of “Beyond the Arch”!
The Missouri History Museum offers a breadth of walking and bus tours on their website, both private and public. Civitas has booked a private bus tour students on Saturday, September 19 from 10:00 am until noon. The tour description on the MO History website: “A whirlwind but surprisingly in-depth trip through as much St. Louis history as we can cram into 2 hours. Route includes historical highlights (the Arch!) as well as visits to hidden gems (everything that isn’t the Arch!) throughout both north and south St. Louis. See off-the-beaten path neighborhoods such as Carondelet, Dutchtown, Kosciusko, Hyde Park, the Ville, and more!”
Many of you know Ryan DeLoach from STL Changemakers, who will be our tour guide for the morning. Ryan will personalize the tour a bit for Civitas, talking about some of the topics and places that came up at the brainstorming session on Saturday, including Mill Creek Valley and other displaced neighborhoods.
