We begin the Civitas year with our annual Kickoff event, followed by an ‘eat and meet’ gathering of student leaders for the coming school year.The kickoff features presentations from our 2026 summer Public Policy interns. For two weeks in June, Civitas Public Policy Fellows studied the lessons that we can learn from recent history, with a particular focus on the 1960s. Their presentations include:
- The Voting Rights Act of 1965
- The Vietnam War and Iran
- Religion and Politics: 1960s and more
- President Nixon and President Trump
