My name is Alexandra Hagemeister and I am the founder of I Vote For Mother Earth. I started I Vote For Mother Earth because I wanted to learn about climate change and other environmental issues through facts, and to teach others about how dire it is to support our planet.
Through this platform, I aspire to educate people about the effects of climate change and how it is already affecting us. Though living a green lifestyle is a great step to take if you are worried about climate change, these actions will only take us so far. The biggest action that anyone and everyone can take is to keep the environment in mind when voting for certain candidates; whether it be as a mayor, a state representative, a senator, or even the president.
Even though the election is over, I Vote For Mother Earth still plans on making St. Louis a better place by working with other environmental organizations like the Missouri Coalition for the Environment to protect our floodplains, and to make St. Louis City and St. Louis County a better and cleaner place for everyone living there. Through working with the Greater Good Initiative, we have the opportunity to make a difference through policy proposals.
