Whereas Article 1 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”, and
Alarmed that there are currently exceeding (approximately) 17, 000 nuclear weapons in the world contained in various countries including the United States, Russia, France, China, Pakistan and the United Kingdom, as well as in numerous others, and
Fully Aware that weapons of mass destruction contain the potential to destroy entire nations, peoples, civilizations, homes, and environments, and
Appalled that the only plausible use of such weapons include mass destruction, acts of terrorism, war, and other atrocious doings,
Be It Hereby Resolved That The General Assembly:
- Requires that all member state of the United Nations cease funding for the proliferation of nuclear weapons for military (or non-military) purposes, those that do not will face an increase of dues by 3% until funding is ceased.
- All member states of the United Nations begin disarming nuclear weapons over the next 10 years in their own countries in order to prevent the use of existing nuclear weaponry.
- Each member state of the United Nations will provide their own funding for the disbarment of nuclear weaponry, for the best interests of its inhabitants and member states of the United Nations.
- Any member state of the United Nations who refuses to comply will as well as any state proven to be developing or funding nuclear weaponry will be issued a condemnation.
- Within the first 10 years, member states of the United Nations will have stopped funding of nuclear weaponry. In addition, over the next 30 years, member states of the United Nations will have cut down the quantity of nuclear weapons in half.
