‘No Kings’ protests, ‘People’s Town Halls’, and other nationwide demonstrations opposing the Trump administration have been no stranger to St. Louis and surrounding communities in Missouri. In many ways, the United States has never garnered patriotism in a more unmistakable way, with Donald Trump organizing a joint birthday-military parade in the nation’s capital.
With the disapproval of the current American government and their actions by tens of thousands of Missourians, contrasted with the growing pride of presidential supporters, and accompanied by the pride of a common American sentiment, Civitas interns asked the streets of St. Louis one question, “Are you proud to be an American?”
