Saturday, May 2 we were joined by 3 guests who shared a ton of fascinating information with students. First we had Dan Berg & Michelle Ong (two local health care workers) who spoke at great length about the opioid crisis in Missouri and how the scope of their work has changed with covid-19.
- Dan suggested watching the weekly covid-19 update videos from EM:RAP (emergency medical education)
- Opioid Risk Tool
The second part of the morning we had Holland Saltsman, owner of the Novel Neighbor. She talked about the struggles of being a small bookstore owner and the ways they have adapted during the quarantine.
- The Novel Neighbor’s Facebook page (this is where you can go to see the weekly updates on new books & puzzles!)
- The Novel Neighbor website (for ordering mystery boxes & reading online)
- Indie Bound (great site to help support local bookstores instead of just Amazon)
