On Sat., Oct. 26 2024,Christiny Miller, Policy Consultant at ZOE Institute for Future-Fit Economies in Berlin, Germany, met by Zoom with Civitas Model UN students at Crossroads.
Christiny is from St. Louis, a 2009 graduate of Webster Groves High School. In her senior year, she was a delegate at the Civitas Model UN. Christiny has a bachelor’s in Latin American Studies from Loyola of New Orleans University and later earned a Master’s Degree in International Development from the Science Po University in Paris She served more than two years in the Peace Corps in western Ukraine. Her assignment came shortly after Putin’s first invasion of Ukraine in 2014. Christiny’s area of expertise is developing effective modes of governance, with particular focus on the nations in the European Union. She has worked at a think tank in Germany and Brussels, focusing on the complex dynamics between richer and poorer EU member states. She recently attended the UN Summit of the Future in New York, which was focused on reinvigorating multilateralism to address global challenges like climate change and the pandemic. At the prep session she fielded many questions from students. Christiny was an invaluable resource to students and they are far the wiser for having heard her.
