Next High School Discussion Group on Saturday, January 15

Our first discussion group of 2005 will be on Saturday, January 15. It will be at Crossroads School (map below) from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Below is a link to the agenda with the discussion topics. Abbey has moved on to South Africa by way of Indianapolis, so we will have to survive without her!

Saturday's Agenda!

Eighth Graders Focus on Three Rs: Research, Resolutions, Rooting for Snow Days

Now that the holiday break is over, students in eighth grade Model UN are immersed in researching the countries they'll be representing in their spring session. While students learn about the political and cultural landscape of their countries, they're also trying to find issues that they think need the United Nations' attention and can become the focus of the resolutions they'll be writing. Lisa will be visiting all of their classrooms in the next month to help prepare them to write these resolutions. If you have any questions about your classroom visit or about your students' research, don't hesitate to call Lisa at 865-4704.

Classroom teachers should make sure to plan on coming to the meeting on February 28 (Creve Coeur Government Center, 4:00-no later than 5:00, we promise). At that meeting the resolutions will be chosen for the spring General Assemblies, so it's crucial that all teachers attend. Although they still seem far, far away, the spring General Assembly sessions will arrive quickly!
