Civitas Urban Studies Program Rolls On!
The Civitas Urban Studies program has rolled into its second week. Eleven students are enrolled. We have been most fortunate to have outstanding presenters and resource individuals. We have taken a "bird's-eye" tour of St. Louis, discussed strip mall development with a developer; looked at environmental considerations of growth with a number of people, studied the cities of Jennings and Kinloch, studied the expanded east side route of MetroLink, and started our Urban Council. This week we will be meeting with East-West Gateway Coordinating Council, touring St. Louis neighborhoods under redevelopment, meeting with a state senator and a journalist, and continuing our Urban Council. We have taken a number of photos and students have written most interesting essays on our activities.
The photos and essays are available by clicking on the "Summer 2003 Activity Index" link below. We thank all members of our group who have contributed at least one essay.
Our calendar link below will also direct you to upcoming activities.
If you have any questions or comments, please call us at (314) 367-6480 or E-Mail us at civitas@swbell.net.

Survey on Number of Municipalities in St. Louis
One of the main themes of our Urban Studies program is coping with the number of governments that exist in the St. Louis metropolitan area. In this week's survey, we would like to ask you a few questions about the multitude of municipalities in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
