  • Dear Arthur,

Twenty-eight high school students had a very successful trip to MUNUC (the Model United Nations of the University of Chicago); eighth grade students are hard at work preparing for their sessions beginning in March, and we have a new poll regarding the U.N., the U.S., and the current conflict between the two.

In addition to reading our newsletters, you may also want to visit our web site by clicking here. We have a good deal of current information, and through the year we will be working on building up our archives from previous years.

    8th Grade News
We are moving towards our February 24 meeting with 8th grade teachers to select resolutions for the Spring sessions. We have visits this week to Ridgewood Middle School in Arnold, MO and Northwest Valley Middle School in House Springs, MO. Next week we will be meeting with St. Gabriel School (St. Louis), Holman Middle School (Pattonville) and Hixson Middle School (Webster Groves).

This past week, Mary Queen of Peace School selected fifteen countries for their April 2 session. We are finalizing country lists and working to get all participating schools ready for the actual sessions.

    Frivolous Model U.N.
This year's high school Frivolous Model U.N. is this Saturday, February 15 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Crossroads School. It is a time to drop everything serious and go for the absurd. With our delegates, this shouldn't be too difficult.

    New Poll
If the U.N. Security Council does not adopt an American resolution on military action against Iraq, and the U.S. acts against the will of the Security Council, who do you think will be harmed more?

    a) The U.S.
    b) The U.N.
    c) The damage will be equal.
