Dear Arthur,
We have news about upcoming events with the High
School Model U.N. as well as MUNUC, the
Model United Nations of the University of Chicago.
In addition to reading our newsletters, you may also
want to visit our
web site by clicking here. We have a good deal of
current information, and through the year we will be
working on building up our archives from previous
years.
New Resolutions for High School MUN due this Thursday!
In just nine days, we have our one and only full-day
high school MODEL U.N. session of the year. It will be
on Thursday, December 12, from 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM at
Forest Park Community College.
We have a number of resolutions that are pending from
our previous session, and they can be accessed by
clicking on the link at the bottom of this article.
However, we would love to have new and fresh
resolutions. Many fine minds among our delegates have
yet to speak and many issues have still not been
addressed. The deadline for the resolutions is this
Thursday, December 5. Resolutions may be E-
Mailed to us at [email protected] or faxed to us at
(314) 367-7742.
We will have a chat room discussion on the resolutions
the night before the session. That discussion will be on
Wednesday evening, December 11, from 7:00 PM -
8:00 PM. More details will follow in next week's
newsletter.

If you want a pre-printed name tag for the Model U.N. session.... |
|
If you want a pre-printed name tag for the Model U.N.
session, you must pre-register for the session. About
one hundred delegates have done so to date. The
easiest way for a delegate to register is to go to the
web site listed below. Not only do you get the fine
name tag, but you also receive a pre-printed placard.
Perhaps most importantly, you also have the
satisfaction of knowing that you have helped us with
our pre-conference count of delegates!

Minor Mixup with MUNUC |
|
Due to some confusion on the parts of both Civitas and
MUNUC, we will be able to send only twenty-six rather
than thirty students to the conference in Chicago. We
apologize for our part in this misfortune.
If you want to go to MUNUC, you have to show up
at our preparation meetings. The first one is on
Saturday, December 14, 2002 from 1:00 PM - 4:00
PM at Crossroads School. If you want a country
and committee assignment, you have to be there! A
full update on our MUNUC status is available by
clicking on the link at the bottom of this article.
The prep session is in the afternoon because there are
ACT tests in the morning. We will do MUNUC
preparation from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, and we'll have a
discussion group from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
If you have any questions about MUNUC,
please E-Mail us at [email protected] or call us at
(314) 367-6480.
