  • And a word about Thanksgiving!

  • Dear Arthur,

In light of the Thanksgiving break, this is a rather short newsletter. So please enjoy it and have a wonderful holiday!

In addition to reading our newsletters, you may also want to visit our web site by clicking here. We have a good deal of current information, and through the year we will be working on building up our archives from previous years.

    Model U.N. Continues on Intranet
Some of the resolutions are still open for debate between now and our Thursday, December 12 session. You can ask questions about, comment on, or propose amendments to Resolutions PS-01, PS-02, PS-03, HR-02, HR-07, and ES-04 by going to the discussion forum of our intranet site (link at the bottom of this article).

Be sure to go to the Discussions section of the intranet site. Select the topic: Resolutions from November 16, 2002 Session. We are looking for questions about the resolutions, comments on the resolutions, and proposed amendments for the resolutions.

Video from High School Model U.N .... and More
We have an excellent eight and one-half minute summary video of what occurred at last Saturday's Model U.N. session. You can access it by clicking on the link at the bottom of this article.

You can also link to new video on our Nov. 7 8th Grade workshop as well as the October "U.N. & Africa" conference. They are all accessible from the link below.

Video Introduction to Next Model U.N. Session
On Monday, November 25, we spent part of the afternoon at Rosati-Kain High School working with students on their resolutions for the upcoming December 12 session. Some of the students prepared a video "teaser" for all delegates about the upcoming session as well as our discussion group (and MUNUC preparation meeting) on Saturday, December 14. You can access the video clip by going to the link at the bottom of this page. This particular clip may not be in the index until late Tuesday or Wednesday due to technical difficulties with our server in Vancouver.

    MUNUC Update
We are a late in sending out information to the students who applied to be part of the Gateway Model U.N. delegation to MUNUC (Model United Nations of the University of Chicago). We will now ensure that all students will receive information by E- Mail on Monday, December 2. We will send info out by "snail mail" a few days later.

    And a word about Thanksgiving!
The word is "AVOIDANCE." If you are among the millions of people who find family gatherings something less than ideal, consider asserting yourself and just avoid it (if you can do so without getting in "trouble."). It's hard to find a better time of the year to just head outside and take a walk!
