  • Dear Arthur,

We have a lively on-line discussion going now with Laura Casey's new forum on preparing for college. Check out the details on the forum in our next article!

In addition to reading our newsletters, you may also want to visit our web site by clicking here. We have a good deal of current information, and during this summer we will be working on building up our archives from previous years.

Laura Casey, Rosati-Kain (2004) recently E-Mailed us and requested a new discussion forum on issues related to high school students preparing for college. Laura wrote, "I've just been doing a lot of research for scholarships and college visits and the like, and I thought it would be a good subject that everyone can talk about and beneficial to be able to talk to other UN, academically minded, intelligent kids about. (Yea, intelligent conversation!) I guess the forum message would be something to the effect of, "Well, we're all high school students, which means many of us are going to be college students soon. Hopefully, college and scholarships searches are going well for everyone, but I know I have questions, as I'm sure many of you do. I hope this forum can be a posting area for questions, answers, helpful hints, scholarship sites, etc, for those partaking in the college quest. If you have questions, post. If you have answers, post. If you know of any good websites for college help or scholarships, let us know! So, thanks, and get busy and start posting." Something like that. Edit it to your like."

    Tour of G.M. Plant
Our first special field trip of the summer was a tour of the General Motors plant in Wentzville, Missouri (St. Charles County). It was a remarkable opportunity to see the connection between robotics and the human labor force. We had an outstanding tour guide who pointed out many of the particulars of the manufacturing process. If you were not able to make this tour, we may offer it again next summer!
